Where do you start with sustainable choices?
You’re full of good intentions to turn your life around because you want to move forward in a sustainable way, but it’s not easy.
Before you start, I have a quick tip for you: don’t change everything at once, but take it step by step. You’ll find it easier to keep up and you can reward yourself at every stage.
Anyway, having said that, where should you start? A quick Google search shows that many people are already struggling with this. Some have even gone so far as to share their findings with others.
Where you can start with sustainable choices: it can also be green
As luck would have it (along with a printing job), Lilian ended up at our door. After a lively conversation, where it turned out she used to live on our street, I was impressed by her passion for the environment. To help others with their green choices, she developed the website ‘hetkanookgroen.nl’. It’s a beautiful, well-organized site with a huge range of sustainable companies in clothing and home. But that’s not all; it also covers green travel, financial matters, and even companies that help you make your electronics last longer. And as if that weren’t enough, there’s a selection of addresses where you can buy organic products.
You could find ‘Het kan ook Groen’, as well as Neutralorganic.nl, at the Festival Groen on June 8th. This was a new initiative by Niels van der Horst and the Warin school in Nederhorst den Berg for the municipality of Wijdemeren. A festival featuring only green companies presenting themselves at the local primary school. The intention is to make this an annual event, and given the interest in early June, there are certainly possibilities.
