Of course, you all know that the 2CV is equipped with an overhead valve boxer engine. Less well known is that the abbreviation 2CV stands for ‘deux chevaux vapeur’, which means two steam horsepower. It was a journalist at the Paris Motor Show who wasn’t too fond of this model and called it an ‘ugly duckling’. ‘Ugly Duck’ eventually became the badge of honor that this special little model still obediently answers to today.
